Pattern Matrix shows a grid of panels with one missing and a row of candidates underneath. Work out the rule the grid is following and tap the panel that completes it. Three rounds, one rule each, and a clock that starts at 110 seconds and shortens to 90.

Tips & Tricks
- 1A wrong guess costs nothing but the seconds you spend on it — there is no life and no penalty, only the round clock. Guessing is therefore free, and the cost of a guess is entirely the hour you might have spent thinking.
- 2The rules are drawn from a fixed set: products, sums, dot counts per row, dot counts per column, and checkerboard alternation. Knowing those five names turns an open-ended puzzle into a checklist you can test one at a time.
- 3The grid is 3x3 for the first two rounds and 4x4 for the third, so the last rule has to hold across sixteen panels rather than nine. A rule that fits three rows but not the fourth is the usual trap in the final round.
- 4Each round starts a fresh clock — 110, then 100, then 90 — and a correct answer carries you straight into the next one. Nothing carries over except the score, which is one point per solved matrix.
Frequently Asked Questions
What are the rules?
Five families: multiplication of row and column values, addition of them, a dot count that varies by row, one that varies by column, and a checkerboard alternation. Each round is generated from one of them.
Does a wrong answer cost anything?
No. The selection clears, a message appears, and the clock keeps running. You can try every candidate in turn if you like, which makes the game a reading test rather than a memory test.
Can I play on my phone?
Yes. Candidates are tapped directly, and there are only a handful of them, so the touch targets are large.
