Futoshiki is a calm number-logic grid. Place the digits so each row and column holds them once, and every greater-than or less-than sign between cells is honoured. Notes, a conflict check and deterministic daily boards make it a satisfying daily habit. The grid is 4x4 with 16 cells and the digits are 1 to 4, and the inequalities between neighbouring cells are the whole additional constraint. The daily board is the same for everyone on a given day, and the clock gives you 180 seconds.

Tips & Tricks
- 1On a 4x4 board every row and column adds to 10, so a row with three digits filled leaves the fourth settled by subtraction rather than by logic.
- 2Read the inequalities before the givens: a chain of three signs in a line often fixes the entire run of four cells on its own.
- 3A 1 can only be the smaller side of a sign, and a 4 only the larger — so a cell marked greater-than its neighbour cannot be 1. Eliminate the extremes first.
- 4The daily board is identical for everyone, which makes it worth solving slowly once: the same layout will not come back tomorrow.
Frequently Asked Questions
What do the signs mean?
Each sign sits between two neighbouring cells and points from the larger digit to the smaller one. Honouring every sign alongside the no-repeat rule in each row and column is the entire puzzle.
Which digits do I use?
1 to 4 on the 4x4 board, each exactly once per row and per column. Because the set is only four digits, the inequalities cut the search space far more than they would on a 9x9 grid.
Is there a timer?
Yes — 180 seconds. The daily board is shared by everyone that day, and the practice board is generated fresh each time you start.
