Mountain Rescue puts five stranded hikers on a seven-by-eight slope and a base camp at the bottom. Reach each hiker, then return to base with all five, all before the avalanche meter fills — and the meter fills faster for every hiker you have already found.

Tips & Tricks
- 1The avalanche is not a fixed clock. The bar fills in 150 seconds at its base rate and then ten per cent faster for every hiker already rescued, so the fifth hiker is collected with the meter running at half again its original speed.
- 2That makes the order matter more than the route: rescuing the far hikers first leaves the fast-filling part of the meter for the short trips, and rescuing the near ones first does the opposite.
- 3Five hikers, and the win needs all of them plus a return to base. The base is not on the way to anything, so the last leg is always a dedicated trip rather than an incidental one.
- 4The meter caps at 150 seconds of safe time at its base rate, which on a 56-cell board is generous for one hiker and tight for five. A run that stops moving is the only way to lose time you could have spent walking.
Frequently Asked Questions
What ends a run?
The avalanche meter reaching full, or a successful rescue of all five hikers followed by a return to the base camp. There is no other hazard on the slope.
Why does it speed up?
The avalanche rate is one over fifteen hundred seconds multiplied by one plus a tenth for every hiker already rescued. Five rescues means the bar is filling at 1.5 times its starting rate for the trip home.
Can I play on my phone?
Yes. Tapping in a direction steps the rescuer that way, and the grid leaves cells roughly 65 pixels wide and 61 tall.
