Slither Loop is a Slitherlink: draw one closed loop along the grid lines, passing each numbered cell with exactly that many of its four edges. Every cell's clue is a hard count, and the finished loop has to be a single continuous ring with no loose ends and no second loop hiding in a corner.
Controls
- Draw — Tap an edge between two dots to add it, tap again to remove it
- Pause — P
Tips & Tricks
- 1A 0 has no edges at all, and its four edges can be crossed out immediately — which in turn forces the neighbouring cells, because each of their edges is now known to be empty. Starting from the zeros is faster than starting from the loop.
- 2A 3 in a corner has three of its four edges already decided by the board edge, so it fills itself. The same is true of a 3 against any border, and these two cases between them usually crack a 5x5 board outright.
- 3The single-loop rule is a constraint during play, not just at the end: a line that reaches a dot with only one edge has to continue, so every partially drawn loop tells you where it cannot go next.
- 4Three rounds at 5x5, 6x6 and 7x7 inside 120 seconds, with no time added between them. The 7x7 is 49 cells of clues and gets whatever is left of the clock.
Frequently Asked Questions
How is a loop accepted?
Every cell must have exactly its clue number of edges drawn, and every dot with any edge must have exactly two — which makes the result a single closed ring rather than several. An empty board is rejected as well.
Can the loop touch itself?
At a dot, no: a dot with four edges would be two loops crossing, and the degree check rejects anything that is not zero or two. Along an edge, a cell with all four sides drawn is fine as long as its clue says 4.
Can I play on my phone?
Yes. Edges are tapped, and a tap toggles that edge on and off, so drawing the loop needs no keyboard or drag.
