How to Play
Pyramid Solitaire is a relaxing single-player card game. Cards are dealt face-up into a pyramid shape, with each card resting on two cards below it. A reserve row and a draw stock sit at the bottom. You remove pairs of exposed (free) cards whose ranks add up to exactly thirteen — a King (13) removes on its own, a Queen (12) pairs with an Ace (1), and a Seven with a Six. Use the stock to flip through more cards. Clear the entire pyramid to win.
The pyramid is seven rows built from 28 cards — one at the apex down to seven along the base — with the remaining 24 in the stock. Because a card is only free once both cards resting on it are gone, the apex is the last card to become playable and the base row the first, which is backwards from how most people read it.
Kings are worth 13 and clear alone, so they are the most flexible card in the deck: they never need a partner. Every other rank needs exactly one specific complement — Ace with Queen, two with Jack, three with ten, and so on down to six with seven.
