How to Play
Acrostic Clues gives you three short clues and one strip of empty squares above them. Solve a clue and its letters appear in the strip in order; the strip is the three answers written one after another. Letters are chosen from an on-screen alphabet, and five wrong ones end the run.

Tips & Tricks
- 1The strip fills in the order the clues are listed, so the length of each answer is visible before you solve it. Counting the gaps is the cheapest way to know whether the answer you are thinking of even fits.
- 2Pay is ten points a letter, so a five-letter answer is worth half again as much as a three-letter one — and there is a fifty-point bonus for finishing all three, which is worth more than any single answer.
- 3A wrong letter is a strike rather than a penalty, and five strikes end the run. With three answers of three to five letters there are only about twelve letters to place, so the strikes are the whole difficulty.
- 4The letters that are not in any answer are still in the alphabet row, which makes the row itself a clue: if the obvious answer needs a letter the row does not offer, the obvious answer is wrong.
Frequently Asked Questions
How is it scored?
Ten points per letter revealed, plus a 50-point bonus for solving all three clues. A puzzle of three four-letter answers is 120 plus 50 rather than 50 plus something else.
What happens if I pick the wrong letter?
One strike, and five strikes end the run. Points already earned stay. Nothing is removed from the strip, and the wrong letter is simply not placed.
Can I play on my phone?
Yes. The clues and the alphabet are tap targets drawn on the canvas, so the whole game is played with one finger.
