How to Play

Tetris is the iconic puzzle game that has captivated players for decades. The objective is to arrange falling geometric shapes called "tetrominoes" to create complete horizontal lines. When a line is completed, it disappears and you earn points.

The game features seven different tetromino shapes, each composed of four blocks: I (line), O (square), T, S, Z, J, and L. These pieces fall from the top of the screen one at a time, and you must rotate and position them to fill gaps in your stack.

As you progress, the pieces fall faster, requiring quick thinking and precise movements. The game ends when the stack of blocks reaches the top of the playing field. This version includes hold functionality, ghost piece preview, and smooth modern controls.

Controls

  • Arrow Left/Right - Move piece horizontally
  • Arrow Down - Soft drop (faster fall)
  • Arrow Up or X - Rotate clockwise
  • Z or Ctrl - Rotate counterclockwise
  • Space - Hard drop (instant place)
  • C or Shift - Hold piece for later
  • P - Pause game

Tips & Tricks

  • 1Keep the stack flat - avoid creating tall columns
  • 2Learn to recognize piece patterns and plan 2-3 moves ahead
  • 3Use the hold feature strategically for difficult pieces
  • 4Build for Tetris clears (4 lines at once) for maximum points
  • 5Practice T-spins for advanced scoring opportunities
