How to Play
Hyper Tunnel is a browser first-person tunnel dodger. Your ship flies down a neon tunnel on its own while ring gates rush toward you; every gate is solid except one glowing open sector, and surviving means keeping the ship inside that sector as the gate sweeps past. Steer with the arrow keys (the ship orbits the vanishing point, so direction is what matters) or drag anywhere on the tunnel — the ship pulls toward your finger. Gates spawn every 0.55 to 1 second; the gap starts about 109 degrees wide and shrinks toward 66 degrees as your distance climbs, while speed ramps from 150 up to 430. Gap positions never jump more than about 137 degrees from the previous gate at the start, tightening to 86 degrees later, so every gate is always reachable — the challenge is pure reading and reaction. One point per metre survived; the run ends the moment a gate wall reaches you outside the gap.
Controls
- ◀ ▶ ▲ ▼ or WASD — steer the ship around the tunnel
- Drag on the tunnel — pull the ship toward your finger
- SPACE — start or restart
- P — pause
Tips & Tricks
- 1Watch the teal gap markers on each gate edge — they show the open sector early
- 2Steer early and smoothly; the ship orbits, so short taps rotate it precisely
- 3Past 400 m the gaps shrink fast — commit to a line as soon as the gate appears
- 4Stay near mid orbit radius so every direction is one short move away
- 5Gates always stay reachable — if you miss one, the line was chosen too late, not too far
- 6Sound helps: each passed gate has a chime, so you can count rhythm at speed
Frequently Asked Questions
What ends a run?
A gate wall reaching your ship while you are outside the glowing gap sector.
How is the score calculated?
One point per metre survived — pure distance, no pickups.
Do the gaps get smaller?
Yes — from about 109 degrees down to 66 degrees as distance climbs, while speed keeps rising.
Is a gate ever impossible?
No — each gap is placed within reach of the previous one, tightened gradually as you go faster.
Can I play on a phone?
Yes — drag anywhere on the tunnel and the ship pulls toward your finger.
Does the tunnel rotate?
The wall frames spin slowly for visual pressure; gate positions on screen are always authoritative.
