How to Play
Frost Sled is a browser downhill sled arcade game. Your sled runs down an endless snowy slope on its own; you only steer left and right. The trail bends left and right in long sweeps, and pines, rocks and snowmen spawn on the track ahead — hit one and the run ends. Golden gift boxes are worth 25 points each; distance in metres is the rest of your score. You start at 300 speed and the hill adds 0.5 speed per metre travelled up to a ceiling of 700 (reached around 800 m), so late runs leave well under a second between seeing an obstacle and reaching it. Steering is a constant 330 units per second with a soft lerp, so small corrections beat big swerves at speed. The visible track is 600 world units deep and objects scale up along a 1.55 power curve, which is why far objects look small and safe until they are suddenly not.
Controls
- A / ← or LEFT steering — move left
- D / → or RIGHT steering — move right
- Drag on the canvas — steer toward your finger
- Space — start or restart
- P — pause
Tips & Tricks
- 1Read the bend at the horizon, not the obstacle in front of you
- 2Gifts sit near the trail edges — only detour when the lane is clear
- 3Above 500 speed, pick a line early and hold it
- 4Snowmen and rocks are the same hazard; pines are the widest, give them the most room
- 5The sled never leaves the trail, so you can always use the full width to thread gaps
- 6Distance is the reliable score; gifts are opportunistic bonus points
Frequently Asked Questions
What ends a run?
Hitting a pine, rock or snowman. The sled is clamped to the trail, so you cannot fall off the sides.
How is the score calculated?
One point per metre travelled plus 25 points per gift box collected.
How fast does it get?
You start at 300 speed and climb toward 700 as metres add up — late runs get genuinely twitchy.
Does the trail always bend?
Yes — every few seconds the slope picks a new bend target, so no two runs feel the same.
Can I play on a phone?
Yes — drag anywhere on the slope to steer; the sled follows your finger.
Is there an end?
No, the hill is endless. Chase your best distance and score.
